The mother dies early on, you see Rachel and Hilary devastated--but the rest of the book is the two of them at their Aunt Cora's dancing school. Not exactly like yours, but similar. And I (and many others) love that book, so I bet it will work with yours as well.Grace Linhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18129288262225671104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31911817.post-91163226556616322522009-09-21T15:50:19.837-04:002009-09-21T15:50:19.837-04:00Goos point, Bethany! It would be cliche to dwell on the pain the child feels throughout the entire plot because it's already an understood attribute in their character. I think it would be redundant to continually point it out that- shocker-the death of the parent greatly effected them.Bethany Gracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18084500719574903152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31911817.post-82265146328241662102009-09-21T10:00:05.927-04:002009-09-21T10:00:05.927-04:00Thanks, Anna and Alvina. I don't think I've seen it done in a kid's book, but I don't see why you can't. It seems to make sense in this case, since you don't want the death of her mother to take over the story.Anna Alterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16158290821419472185noreply@blogger.com
