(I believe she had two books of poetry published.) Her mother used to write down the things she said too. The interesting thing is that she never became an adult poet.Elaine Magliarohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09829330276633865868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31911817.post-36725979515501303992009-05-03T09:58:00.000-04:002009-05-03T09:58:00.000-04:00I love this too. I try to write down what my boys say too - it's priceless.Andromeda Jazmonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12355192738014962965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31911817.post-45262543807792788902009-05-01T09:12:00.000-04:002009-05-01T09:12:00.000-04:00I love Naomi Shihab Nye! I'm so glad I came across the video last night.

Tanita, it was lovely to hear her reading her poem--especially such a humorous one.

Tricia,

It isn't just boys. I remember one of my young students sitting with a quizzical look on her face as she sat drawing a picture. A little later she came up to me and asked: "Do frogs have lips?" That's just one of many funny things I hear kids ask or say over the years. I wish I had written them all down.

Jama,

Maybe your toes still are--you've just forgotten how to use them in that way.Elaine Magliarohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09829330276633865868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31911817.post-70087352358097056912009-05-01T08:43:00.000-04:002009-05-01T08:43:00.000-04:00I love this!
