my book needs your help!

VOTE NOW!

Yes, I'm asking for your assistance. I'm looking for either a funny picture or word or sentence for the tee shirt on this person in the park and also for a title for the book she's reading.

Please help! My deadline is now!

  2. For the book, what about "SO FAR FROM THE BAMBOO GROVE"?

And the shirt...uh...uh...I'm drawing a blank.

  6. Book: the cover of THIS book.

T-shirt: The scene in the picture, including the girl with the T-shirt with the scene.

Suggested because when I was a kid I always thought it was fun to see things within things, like the Land o'Lakes butter package with a girl holding the Land o' Lakes butter package.

  8. I second the book being the book. Or another of your books if you wanna get rid of the self-reflexitivity.

What about READ! on the shirt? Or stealing from pop music "The Bird's the Word" (which could be the book, too, I suppose).

The book's a good place to pay a bit of homage to someone, too.

  9. Goofy, sorry, but how about Scott O'Dell's Sing Down the Moon, and the T-shirt, The Sky is Falling, or don't look up. Okay, I've had far too much bird poop on my shoulder, cheek, lap, glasses... sorry not much help, but then I can be the slacker I am, you've got some great suggestions here.

Love the wariness of the characters.

  12. If you want to connect the book title to birds, here are two suggestions:
THE TRUMPET OF THE SWAN and
    OWLS IN THE FAMILY
You could make up a title for the book--something like "Birds You Meet in a Public Park."

The kid could be wearing a birdwatcher's or Audubon T-shirt or one that says "Pigeons Are People, Too!" Or "Birds of a Feather Read Together."

If not, there's HARRIET THE SPY.

  14. how about a picture of toast on her shirt. toast is great. it deserves to be on a tee-shirt. it is a kind of iconic shape.

  18. For the shirt I like Libby's suggestion or something from your other books like the big red bus.

And the book could be 'I Feel Bad About My Back' by Meghan Ephron, or 'Meghan of the D'Urbervilles' by Blue Rosegirl or Alvina Hardy or something...or Alvina of the D'Urbervilles by Meghan Hardy.

Or a book like 'Hidden Things in Picture Book Art' since that is up your alley!
