I KNEW I had a talent for writing at a young age!

I love this! And I love the way people stay the same, really: "Meghan is interested in drawing, sports, excitement."

PS I have a lot of my childhood stories, too....and what I also think is interesting about this post is that yours are NONFICTION. Surely that's unusual for kids?

You know Libby, I never thought of that. I always thought I just fell into writing nonfiction, but I did like to write newspaper stuff and that sort of thing. I don't think I have any stories saved that are actual stories. Although, there was one that has disappeared that I was fond of: kids opened a fix-it-shop and at night went around and broke people's stuff so that they could get business. I can't remember whether it had a moral ending or not.

Page 4 has some sort of follow the lines and find the kite stuck in the tree kind of thing. I remember I was really into doing projects like that but no one would ever help me or participate. I think that's why I wrote that my sister was into "pooping and peeing." She either said that herself sarcastically to get me to leave her alone or I did that to get her back for not helping me with the paper. The other option, of course, was that I thought I was being funny, but it doesn't have that tone. I mean, the rest of the thing is so serious! Weird.
