This isn't really children's book related, except that it's unsettling when things we've always accepted as facts are changed. Like brontosaurus not existing, and now Pluto is no longer a planet!
And also a funny tidbit, someone found our blog recently by searching for "Pursuing Blue girls." I wonder if they were looking for something dirty...

I only learned about the non-existence of the brontosaurus from a five year old (http://pacyworks.blogspot.com/2006/03/travel-story.html). I'm glad you alerted me to Pluto before I made another gaffe.
Oh, wow. That's weird... and a little sad I guess.
Yeah, the Pluto thing really stinks. It just puts cracks in all my learning.
First Roy G. Biv, now the solar system! (For those too young to remember: Roy G. Biv was how you remembered the colors of the spectrum until they decided that indigo wasn't a color.)
What I want to know is the mnenomic all the newscasters keep mentioning but never revealing - *I* never learned it! -- the planetary equivalent of that excellent fellow, Roy G. Biv....I miss him! And I liked indigo, too.
I never learned the planetary mnemonic either: My very excellent mother just sent us nine pizzas...
There is no brontosaurus????
!!!
And there's no indigo?!?!
The very things that hold this thread of life together are crumbling.
It's just like "The Englishman Who Climbed Up a Hill and Came Down a Mountain". As far as I can tell, Pluto still exists, only its human-created catagorization has changed. All in all, completely unimportant to Pluto itself, unless humans decide to go out there and add to it's volume in order to re-designate it as a planet.
Would a rose by any other name smell as sweet? Indeed I think it would.
